2023-24 Student Advisory Council |
|
|
|
Hi everyone!
We’re excited to announce the establishment of our 2023-24 school year Student Advisory Council (SAC). The Student Advisory Council is a dedicated group of students who will serve as a vital bridge between our student body and the Board of Education. Our primary mission is to represent the interests, concerns, and innovative ideas of our students, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in the decision-making processes that affect our school. Look out for updates from our subcommittees and council projects!
We’re happy to report that in our first few meetings we have elected a capable and passionate student cabinet to help the SAC do the most we can for our student community efficiently, effectively, and equitably. Our cabinet has student representatives from a variety of schools, from Galileo, to Lowell, to George Washington, to Ruth Asawa SOTA, because the SAC aims to represent the interest of all SFUSD schools.
To ensure district-wide representation, we’re still seeking student representatives from June Jordan, Civic Center, Downtown, SF International, and Independence High School. Please fill out the following application to be considered for the role.
If you’re a student interested in connecting with the SAC, find out who your school’s representatives are! If you’re an adult or organization interested in finding student leaders to help your cause, volunteer for an event, or learn more about a certain topic, please reach out to our staff advisor Marykate Rossi (rossim@sfusd.edu) or DM us on Instagram (@sfusdsac).
In community,
Meagan To & Linnani Simpson
