Fall Break is just around the corner! We hope you have fun plans and have time to relax and restore. There's also a three-day weekend just ahead with the Veterans Day holiday! Marina Middle School recently debuted an all-new kitchen as a move to serve more freshly prepared food throughout the district. All students in SFUSD have access to school meals at no cost. See updated menus for your school and find other food resources below.

Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine every year. After a few mild seasons, we could see more flu this year as people gather indoors, often without wearing masks. Getting your flu vaccine will protect yourself and others.

November is National Native American Heritage Month

Did you know that SFUSD has an Indian Education Program? The program supports American Indian/Alaskan native students with internships, support groups, tutoring, technology and Internet access, and more!

Important: Synergy Offline Nov. 18 - 21 Due to Cloud Migration |
|
|
ParentVUE, Online Forms (school applications), and StudentVUE will be offline from Friday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. and will be back online on Monday, Nov. 21. This means you will not be able to access school information like assignments and grades during this time period. SFUSD is moving our Student Information Systems (SIS), Synergy, to be hosted in the cloud in order to increase our system’s speed, allow for enhanced security and faster disaster recovery.

Free College and Life Prep Workshops at Your Local Library
The San Francisco Public Library and Study Smart Tutors is elated to relaunch FREE in-person college and life prep workshops for teens. The first round of classes to close out 2022 are at Chinatown, Anza, Ocean View, Visitacion Valley and Western Addition. Students may join a one- or two-class series taught by veteran instructors. Workshops including SAT, Financial Goal Setting, Debit & Credit Cards, Leadership Qualities and Time Management Skills.
Study Smart Tutors is also offering workshops virtually on ACT and single subject test prep as well as College Essay Writing, Admissions and First Year College 101 throughout the school year with dates that lead immediately to the SAT and ACT exams. Veterans Day
All SFUSD schools and offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 in observance of Veterans Day.
|
|
|

Youth D&D / Tabletop Role-Playing Game Club
Prepare characters and launch them into a world of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) hazards and adventure with new and experienced tabletop role-playing gamers (TTRPG) ages 12-18. The club meets every Wednesday this month at 5 p.m. at the Main Library, The Mix on the 2nd floor.

Transgender Day of Rememberance
Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on Nov. 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence. Learn more about LGBTQ+ resources that may be available at your school.

Fall Break
SFUSD TK-12 schools will be closed Nov. 21 - 25 for Fall Recess. Early Education schools will be closed Nov. 23 - 25. SFUSD offices will be closed Nov. 24 and 25.

For Female High School Seniors: KPMG Future Leaders Program
The KPMG Future Leaders Program annually awards 22 top female high school seniors with significant financial needs, the opportunity to accelerate their personal growth through college scholarships, leadership development, mentorship, and an introduction to golf. Apply by Feb. 1, 2023.

City College of San Francisco is hosting a Career Education showcase. Discover in-demand career options, explore over 300 certificates, degrees, and apprenticeship programs, and learn about Summer and Fall 2023 classes that fit your schedule and job placement and career services. Free parking and dinner will be provided for this event.
